Rod Cummings, LMHC, NCC, BCC is an experienced and skilled Clinical Mental Health Counselor, Psychotherapist, and Board Certified Coach specializing in his work with individuals, couples, families and professional partnerships. Rod holds a Masters Degree with honors in Counseling Psychology from Pace University, Westchester, NY.
He completed his Clinical Internship at Four Winds Hospital in Westchester County, NY where he worked with adolescents, adults and families. Rod completed his post-graduate training as a Psychodynamic Psychotherapist with a specialty in LGBTQ clinical services at the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy (ICP) in New York City where he worked with a wide-range of adults, adolescents and couples. He currently maintains a private practice in Manhattan.
With over 10 years experience as a Counselor, Coach and Therapist, Rod is trained in various modalities of therapy such as Psychodynamic, Cognitive-Behavioral & Mindfulness. Additionally, Rod is a Board Certified Life Coach and a Yoga Alliance Certified Instructor (RYT-200) trained at The Center for Yoga Studies in NYC. His therapeutic approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal and professional challenges. He integrates complementary methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client. With compassion and understanding, he works with each individual to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing.
